Battle of Waterloo - Move 3

 Table at the start of move 3

Top left – Cooke has deployed his corps either side of Hougoumont
Top right – The British cavalry have moved forward in the centre
Bottom left – Vandamme has started to enter Hougoumont woods
Bottom right – Drouot and d’Erlon in front with Kellerman and Pajol in reserve

 French Left

Vandamme has entered Hougoumont woods and his artillery has unlimbered to the right
Reille has halted his infantry, his artillery are firing on La Haye Sainte

 French Right

Drouot has halted his infantry, his artillery have opened fire on La Haye Sainte
D’Erlon has halted his corps and unlimbered his artillery

 British Left

The French are still out of artillery range
Picton in on and behind the hill
Cole is in and behind La Haye Sainte
Uxbridge has brought his cavalry forward between the hill and La Haye.


British Right

Cooke is deployed either side of Hougoumont, his artillery firing on the French
Clinton is moving his artillery forward to join Cooke’s guns.
